The Client…

Pentathlon GB is the governing body for Modern Pentathlon in the UK.  The organisation has an impressive history of producing world class performers and is focused on consistently producing athletes that can compete on a world stage.

The Challenge…

With high performance athletes based all over the country, Pentathlon GB needed a solution to be able to track and manage their athletes whilst also improving levels of communication and data analysis.  The national performance team were spending countless hours sending emails, making phonecalls and reviewing spreadsheets and needed to maximise the time spent with their athletes.

How We helped…

We worked with Pentathlon GB to implement our Performance product across their programme.  The online nature of Performance brings data collection, analysis and messaging all into one place, creating a hub for the Pentathlon GB Performance Team.

One of the main challenges we faced in the implementation was the fact that Pentathlon is made up of five disciplines, making data capture and recording more complicated than in a single discipline sport.  Our development team worked with the Programme Managers to develop a series of log forms designed to capture essential data across all five pentathlon disciplines.

As a result of  using Performance, Pentathlon GB now have more insight into their athlete’s day to day training, plus access to reports ranging from individual athletes statistics to programme wide analysis.

Performance is currently being used by Pentathlon GB’s Olympic hopefuls as they prepare for the London games and we are working with the organisation to provide support and new features.
